What to Expect

WANT TO VISIT?

Welcome! We look forward to meeting you. There are numerous things that happen during the week.
Guests are always welcome Sunday AM for traditional worship, Bible study, and contemporary worship (with kids’ church) and also at the weekday Bible Studies and events.  It is a good idea to call ahead (512.869.7729) in case of any schedule changes. We don’t want to miss you!

If you are interested in meeting Pastor Mike, touring the church or picking up other information, please call or email. Thanks!!

SUNDAY VISIT AND WHAT TO EXPECT… I’m New! What should I know?

What will happen when I visit for the first time?

If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while—and that’s fine with us! Come in and see if this is the church for you. We do have a guest registry if you want to sign and a “getting started” yellow card in the pews. This allows you to fill out the information you are comfortable with and let us know how we can serve you.

What do I wear to attend your services?

In the traditional worship service, people dress as they are comfortable, from Sunday dress to more casual clothes. Come in what is comfortable for you.  The contemporary worship service tends to be more casual.

What are your services like?

We invite you to join us each week as we worship together. At Cross & Crown you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that is Christ-centered. Everyone is welcome to participate as they are comfortable. Children are always welcome! There is a children’s handout to keep them engaged. We also have a parents’ room just outside the worship area for parents with small children who might need a place to go during services.  In our worship services, God comes to us in his Word and sacrament; we respond with prayer and praise. Whenever you worship, we hope the service is renewing and enlightening.

Traditional Worship

Our traditional worship services follow a traditional liturgy of the Western Rite, highlighting the great hymns and responses of Christianity (with occasional additions of special praise songs), prayers and responses. We have a service handout to easily follow along and sermon notes to help.

Contemporary Worship

Our contemporary worship services are more relational.  Music is familiar to the ear and led by a worship team. Songs, Scripture, and prayers are projected on the wall for easy following.  Kids are dismissed part way through the service to go to Kids’ Church, or if you prefer, you may keep them with you.
